Happy Camp

One early summer morning John and Lindsay were going to an overnight camp. The camp was called Happy Camp. John and Lindsay thought it was a stupid name but they were dying to go plus to get away from their parents.

When they got there they were so excited to figure out which cabin they would be in they forgot to say goodbye to their parents. They still had fun as the weeks went by. Right before breakfast they went for a swim after breakfast. They did archery and at night they would tell ghost stories, roasting marshmallows and making s'moors.

When it was time to leave Lindsay and John saw their parents taking there luggage and putting it into the car. But John and Lindsay did not want to leave. So their parents bought the camp and that is were they all live now and for years to come. John and Lindsay became camp instructors and named the camp after themselves!

A Treat I Didn't Expect

I was going to Guide camp with 2 friends. It took a long time to get there because it was up north near Orangeville. Along the way, we saw pigs, cows and horses rolling in the mud. When we reached camp, we had to help set up the tents. I was hammering the wooden pegs into the ground. After that we had a snack, and played games. A little while later, we had dinner then went to bed. bug

It was the early morning when I started to hear the Canadian Geese. They were flying and honking over my tent. It woke me up. I got out of my sleeping bag to take a peek. Most of the honking came from a nearby lake surrounded by trees. Suddenly I saw a goose flying right over my tent! I thought it would knock the tent down. But it missed. Then I went back to my tent. When everyone woke up, I started to tell everyone what I saw. They were amazed.

Forgotten Food

One time when the Kawabi Swim Team went on one of their swims across the lake to Kawabi Island they forgot their food. They were gone for a couple of hours before they realized their loss and had to go back to camp. It turns out that the camp counsellors had thrown out the lunch.

So the chefs had to make a whole new meal. (It took about an hour.) By then the team was starving. Finally they had their lunch.
