How can YOU take action? What’s YOUR plan?<\/h3>\n

1. DOES YOUR CITY HAVE A PLAN?<\/strong> Use Google<\/a> to find out if your region has a Mitigation and Adaptation Plan<\/strong> for climate change, like Toronto<\/a> and New York<\/a> have. (And if they don\u2019t, then press your local politicians to develop one!)<\/p>\n

2. MAKE YOUR OWN PLAN. <\/strong>Develop your own personal Mitigation and Adaptation Plan<\/strong>. There are many actions each of us can take to protect ourselves and our property from floods, heat waves, power shortages, water shortages\u2026 etc. See the Resources<\/strong> below for ideas such as this one from the Institute for Catastrophic Loss Reduction<\/strong>: Handbook for Reducing Basement Flooding<\/a>.<\/p>\n

3. TAP INTO ENVIRONMENTAL NETWORKS:<\/strong> Get the ball rolling by participating in environmental action, or financially supporting, these environmental organizations and others:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
